About Stoneybank Terrace
We have three nursery rooms for your little ones, each for a different age group.
Caterpillar Room
Our Caterpillar Room is for our youngest children (aged 6 months to 2 years) and the play area is split into 2 rooms with the first room being furnished to be cosy with soft furnishings and Story Den. We also have sleep pods in the room for quick naps and for longer naps, the sleep Room is just adjacent. The room flows into the eating area where the children and staff sit together to enjoy snack and lunch.
The second room has lots of space for the children to explore and play with toys and focused activities. Our toys are mainly wooden to enhance play and learning.
Butterflies Room
Our Butterflies Room is for the children aged 3 to 5 years and is a bright room with 2 skylights giving lots of natural daylight. The children enjoy many activities with an emphasis on loose parts play to encourage imagination. There is also core play areas of arts and crafts, sand and water. The room leads to the garden and the free flow to the garden means lots of fresh air.
Caterpillar Room
A bright and airy room where there is the room to explore and have fun. Our staff are experienced and work with you to establish routines which match your home routine. The room is relaxed where cuddles and laughter are the norm. Within this setting your child explores play through activities such as messy play, natural resources and music.
Ladybird Room
Around the age of 2, your child is ready to move into toddlers. This room has lovely period features with areas for your child to explore through free flow play. The staff are experienced in creating fun things that your child can learn through individual learning and playing with their friends.
Butterflies Room
This is a large room which flows into the garden and is for the children aged 3 to 5. We have lots of different areas of play with the focus on developing learning and play in areas of numeracy, literacy, role play, construction, craft and art, construction, sand and water.
Garden
We view the garden as another room and children enjoy play in areas such as the mud kitchen, loose parts and risky play.
